I have great pleasure in writing these few lines about Shri Sharad Pawar on the occasion of hisbirthday on 12 December. I have had the pleasure and privilege of knowing Sharadrao for the past many years. I admire him for his tireless energy, his dynamism and his sense of commitment to whatever cause he undertakes. He pursues his objective and ideals with a missionary zeal. He has a vast and varied circle of friends who regard him as a friend indeed because he can always be a friend who will willingly help those in need.
Though, as a senior and seasoned politician he moves in the highest circle of the elite politicians, his concern is for the weal and welfare of the common men and women of our country. His ideas are not static for, he believes in imbibing new thoughts and currents which the emerging new society presents. For example, he is now engaged in understanding and implementing the scientific advances which are engaging the attention of the whole world. His ideal is to convert our traditional, though great, country into a veritable habitant of scientific advance and development.

On this happy, landmark occasion, I wish Sharadrao every health, happiness and success.
